Moira Beeby manages the branch office, she will assist you with any general queries and can give advice on workplace issues, the branch committee and how to get issues raised in UNISON. Moira produces the monthly pay bargaining notes, the stewards newsletter and the web site.
Nazan SenNazan Sen is the full time branch Case Worker she advises and represent members who do not have a UNISON steward in their workplace. She also supports and advises stewards who are dealing with individual cases and with issues in the workplaces.
The branch employs an Outreach Worker, 28 hours a week, Gordon Thompson. This post combines 14 hours a week case work and 14 hours development; building organisation in the workplace, recruiting new stewards and members, and helping with workplace negotiations.
Most advice is given on the telephone. Nazan and Gordon are often out of the office at meetings. Most advice and representation takes place at the local or branch level but if there is a need for further legal advice they can refer cases to the region. This would include cases of unfair dismissal, discrimination etc.
The branch is supported at Regional level by the Regional Organiser, Colin Inniss who works from Congress House, WC1. Colin can refer cases to UNISON solicitors for legal advice or for a decision on whether UNISON will provide legal representation.Colin also supports and advises stewards and branch officers.
Sarah KilbyWe also employ an Administrative Assistant, Sarah Kilby. She deals with your membership queries. Members records are held on the central UNISON system, let us know if you change your address or workplace so we can keep your record up to date and keep you informed on what's going on in UNISON. Or you can manage your own membership information on-line
Sarah also handle requests for publicity materials, processes expenses claims, registers new UNISON stewards and training requests.
